The problem of weapons in America is usually mentioned as important to freedom in a liberal society. On the one aspect of the problem, the liberty pertains to the 2nd Modification proper to bear arms towards a tyrannical sovereign. On the opposite aspect of the talk, the priority is banning or limiting gun rights to make sure freedom from worry and violence. Part of the dialog being missed by all is the position of gun violence within the erosion of civil society, one other important element of freedom in a liberal society.
